Puppy and Upcoming

So I know I haven't posted in a while, I'm not sure how many people even still read my blog besides my mom and Lesley once in a while ha. I had thought of taking it down recently but I feel as though I might have a few posts left so I shall continue for now.
I drove home to lovely Durango this past friday to find a pleasant christmas surprise. My parents had gotten a puppy that morning, a little girl Dobie named Bella. (Not due to the twilight girl's name which I was later notified is the same). She's a sweetheart, look for more photos soon. I forgot to bring my camera cord home for the holidays so here's a crappy couple of phone pics for now.

Coming up: I am embarking on a new year's adventure to salt lake to see the homies and work a rail jam followed by an expedition to jackson hole up the WY. I'll be riding and raging so look for some updates then.
ALSO here's a funny video and a jam for your earz. Word readers.

I officially launched my first webpage a few days ago. I coded it all through html and css and did all the photoshop work myself. Hit it up and let me know what you think.

Halloween Cactus

So a week or so ago I was pondering what to be for Halloween and had the epiphany to bring back a costume I was when I was much younger - a cactus. Guaranteed nobody else will be one and it's pretty cool looking so I went for it. I got some green foam from the craft store and some toothpicks and made my remixed version.

Here's the version from my childhood.

Of course a cactus is Mexican.

And here's the newest edition, a little more realistic but not as retro.

Champions

So I don't usually blog about myself, but I figured I needed to let you all know that our intramural soccer team clinched the championship today in a 9-2 win. We're getting some sick t-shirts to prove it but until then I found this soccer gold medal on the internet to symbolize the win.

Another?...

I couldn't believe it when I saw that there's another coming out, even with the original brothers. So stoked. The first one is one of the best movies of all time,I really hope this one lives up to it.

AUTOMATIC SHOTGUN?

I heard about this recently and didn't think it could be real...o but it is. This has to be the scariest thing since nukes. I don't know whether to think it is awesome or want to ban it. I am considering being it for Halloween though. I bet it's scarier than your costume. Watch this demo video of the most powerful gun in production.

JAMZ OF THE EVERY SO OFTEN

So I know I'm not that legit at making posts frequently and consistently, especially recently but I'm going to try to be better for those of you who read because I read your blogs too and I want to give back. Here's the jams that I've been jamming and you should jam too. DOUBLE FEATURE!!!

Serious Excursion

Yesterday me and my good friend Erin and I drove an hour to get a very special lunch, that of a Texas Taco from Serious Texas Bar-B-Q. Erin goes to school in Georgia and doesn't come visit much and had a craving for a home (Durango) classic that just happened to have opened a branch in Loveland last year.
Erin in front of the magical place.

A bag of tacos that were requested by those who couldn't make the trip.

THE TACO! Shredded BBQ, Cheesy Potatoes, Jaleps, Onions, Sauce. Unreal.

Hands down the best cheap bbq meal you will ever have. Guarantee it.

Snow and Mustaches

Apparently my birthday (Oct. 10) means two things here in Colorado, snow and mustaches. The mountains usually open up around this time, this year with loveland beating out abasin by a couple days. I still haven't made it to the mountains yet but will hopefully get up there this weekend so keep an eye out for that.
This year we went camping on the 9th and woke up to this on the 10th. It was frigid and apparently we hit record lows for this early in October.

Then we headed back to Boulder for the 3rd Annual Mustache Bash where we got down with drinks and friends and mustaches.
Girls

Bros

Apparently I wasn't around for any photos. There may be some on my camera but my "whip" jess has taken it over so go bother her for more @ yessplease.blogspot.com.
Thanks all for coming out for my 22. It was a good night!

Laid Off

Hey there. Sorry it's been so long since I've blogged, been pretty busy with school, boulder freeride and work. However last week I was laid off from work last week during a corporate buy out so I no longer have to commit any time to that so maybe I'll get back to blogging some.
Anyhow, my friend found this video on this site I showed him called youshouldhaveseenthis.com. This video was great timing because A) it deals with Hitler and I just saw Inglorious Basterds and B) it deals with Burning Man, a ridiculous festival my parents just went to. Check it out:

Old PBR Factory

Now PBR has become somewhat of a “trendy” or popular beer among the skate and snow industry over recent years. I personally had it forced on me by my elders on the board for the ski club I was a part of (Garcin, Lesley, Jess, Taylor) my freshmen year in college. Now I rep it. Is it because it’s cheap and us riders are not rich, or is it because it’s a good brew, or because of something else, or all of the above? Now I’m not the one to answer this question, I just know I like it. Its cold, tastes like beer (not water like key light and other crappy cheap beers), and has a heritage that I can respect. My friends drink it too. A few days ago I stumbled across these photos of the old factory online. Check them out, you just might like them.

Rock the Bells 2009

A week ago I went to Rock the Bells at Red Rocks, a hip-hop concert of sorts. It was unbelievable and I wanted to make a post on how I ranked the shows. These results surprised even me but here they are:
MVP: Big Boi – he played a ton of Outkast hits, how can you beat that?

2nd: Nas – jammed “Got Yourself a Gun” megamix. That was the first song I ever downloaded of Napster back in the day.

2.5nd: Damien Marley – Can’t understand much of what he’s saying but that Rasta just gets me sometimes.

3rd: Tech N9ne – Only had one song on my iPod, now I’m looking at albums.

4th: Busta Rhymes – Yells and kills it, had the crowd so hyped.

5: GZA – lyrical genius (Maybe why he goes as Genius as well).

JAMZ

Classified just dropped a new CD so he is the jamz of the week.
I like this video because it plays off Banksy, a graffiti artist I blogged about earlier.

Nice little intro

More slow jammish but good beat

Elevators

Every day I travel to the 10th floor of the Vail Resorts office building so naturally I take the elevator, otherwise I’d be late for work every single day climbing stairs. Throughout my travels in the elevator I have learned and observed things. First, if you’re on the second floor, take the stairs. Probably even take the stairs if you’re on the third floor. Especially if you’re going down. Also, why is the elevator so awkward sometimes and not others? If you think about it, you’re riding in a tiny closet-box-like thing with a bunch of other people staring at the door or the number display in complete silence. Should somebody say something? That’s pretty awkward. Because I’m new here I don’t talk to many people because I don’t have the faintest clue who they are so I’m not about to be the awkward breaker and say something stupid like “Great day for a bike ride” or “Man I can’t wait for ski season”. It would probably be even more awkward if I said some ridiculous thing like that so I just grit my teeth and stare at the numbers until it says 10. Other times, when you forget to think about the awkwardness of the situation, the elevator is fine, a causal and convenient ride to your floor. Or hopefully, a couple people who are friends get on and are talking so it’s not quite as awkward for the rest of the silent people standing in the tiny room. That is unless you’re the only other person on, then you feel kind of left out.

Why I wear Nike SB

Because they kill it so hard and make commercials that I want to watch over and over. Commercials usually suck. Nike commercials don't. Nike killing it:

Jess got a new dag and we decided to call her Darla after the Little Rascals character (my idea). She's the best little puppy dag ever. See the resemblance...

AR-15's and Submachine Guns

Sorry its been so long since the last update but I've been busy and didn't want to waste your time with worthless updates.
Anyhow, over the 4th I had the chance to get involved in some true American activities, specifically the right to bear arms. I went to Nebraska where the farmers we were with had a few big guns to shoot in celebration.

I also recently learned that the inventor of the AR-15, the gun that the military adopted as the M16 was invented by a man named Eugene Stoner (the same glorious last name as myself). Thus I researched to find out a little more. I'm not sure if we're directly related but I do know that the AR-15 was used in the infamous North Hollywood Shootout.

I am in no way endorsing what these two bank robbers did but it was an intense experience to hold such a powerful weapon while sharing the same last name as the inventor as well.

The last day at ARAPAHOE BASIN - THE LEGEND

Yesterday me and some friends made the journey to summit county for closing day at A-Basin. We didn't get there till 1, took two runs and then had to call it quits because of lightening and thunder, which closed the lifts. The best part was that to end the day we ducked the ropes and got fresh tracks back to the car because it was snowing pretty hard at that point. Not quite the sunny spring slush day you would imagine for closing day on June 7th but it might have just been more fitting because we we're at A-Basin - THE LEGEND. Real pictures coming soon.

The best day ever

was yesterday. I got two jobs and two scholarships and went to the bars and had a lot of drinks. Now I am no longer unemployed so those of you that judged me for it don't have to anymore.

JAMZ OF THE WEEK

So since I've been slacking once again, here's two jamz for your pleasure.

BIRDMAN

Since Chris "Birdman" Andersen was the only Nugget to step up and play a legit game in last night's slop with the Lakers, I decided to make an image of what I imagine him as.

Summer Toy

For summer I want one of these. It's like a slip-n-slide but with a skimboard theme. It's $70 and I am still unemployed so if one you reading this feels so inclined, buy one of these and invite me over on your next day off.

THE TALL CAN CHALLENGE(S)

Recently my buddy Zander and I devised an ingenious way to skate and ensure progression at the same time. It's called the Tall Can Challenge and this is how it works:
1.)Pick a skate object such as a bank, manual pad, rail, etc.
2.)Choose a trick that both contenders are similarly skilled at or have an equal chance at landing.
3.)Skate it until someone lands the trick
4.)The one who lands it first is now owed a tall can of PBR by the loser.
This way you get to skate, land tricks in front of your friends, and drink PBR afterward. This is a sure way to have fun this summer and I suggest you devise a way to do the same whether it be skating, rollerblading, scootering, golfing, etc.

Homeless Real World - Denver

So I think this is going to be the best show ever made. It takes the drama of the Real World MTV created to the streets of Denver so you can see the other side where its real homeless people fighting to survive instead of rich college kids in a penthouse arguing over who didn't take out the trash. Watch this teaser now-->

What I'm Stoked For

Skateboarding this summer. And this movie to come out, as Isenseven is already the best at snow movies they will now be taking over skate as well.

BANKSY

is one of the coolest artists I've ever seen. He's never been caught doing these massive stencil graffiti murals and nobody knows his real identity. He's done these all over the world including Paris, London, and L.A. Check out these pieces:

Ninjas

The other night my friend Drew introduced me to an awesome show called "Deadliest Warrior" on Spike TV. It's a show that puts different historical warriors against each other in a series of tests to see who would dominate if they were to fight. You need to go check this show out. This season includes Pirate vs. Knight, Taliban vs. IRA, Yakuza vs. Mafia, Viking vs. Samurai, Green Beret vs. Spetznaz, Maori vs. Shaolin Monks, William Wallace vs. Shaka Zulu and Ninja vs. Spartan.
My vote is on Ninjas because they are sneaky and deadly. I wish they had a bracket so we could all bet on different warriors and have a playoffs till the death.

Tanner

So I've never really liked this guy (I don't think most people do), but at least he held my drink for this ridiculously over stoked picture. Now I feel kinda bad about making fun of him and taking stupid pictures of us at X Games...except not really.

BURGER JOINTS

Everybody's got their favorite. Whenever I go to a new place I always like trying the local burger spot. Its bound to be good. Recently I ventured to Crown Burgers in SLC which offers a heap of pastrami on top of the burger. It is delicious. Here's my top three favorite burger joints in no particular order:

THE KNOWLEDGE ON 3.2 B33R

So, because we are skiing in Utah, we inevitably had to go to the liquor store and try to figure out the odd laws here in the Mormon state. Thus, I did some research. 3.2 beer AKA "near beer" is measured by mass instead of by volume like regular beer. This means that the difference is less than you think. Utah beer is 4% as opposed to most Colorado brews which are around 5%. So, for every 10 beers you drink in the CO, you must consume 12 Utah-style beers or mix in a strong cocktail to keep on track. So stop complaining about 3.2, and step your game up.

Warlords of Gaikon

Yesterday, I drove to Park City for spring break shredding. On the way we stopped at a Flying J truckstop for refreshments. Among our purchases were a dream catcher, an animal tee, and the best audio tape we could have purchased. It was called Warlords of Gaikon and was an epic tale of battle in Dimension X where Blade becomes a warrior and occupies his time battling and seducing women. After a little research we discovered that there are actually 37 books in the series and we had listened to #18. I can only hope that we can listen to more on the way home.

JAM OF THE WEEK

I'm starting a new feature - jam of the week. I'll try to put one song I'm stoked on for the week up and then if you like it, get it or if you don't, then you don't have good taste in music.
THIS WEEKS JAM = ZION I - COASTIN'

TAPPED OUT

These things have been popping up all over facebook. And I got one thing to say - They're tapped out like a WWE wrestler.

CHA-CHA

For those of you who don't know, Cha-Cha is the new hot sh**. You text any question to Cha-Cha (242 242) and they answer it, providing it is answerable. Last night we were at the bar and we wanted to know exactly how big the worlds biggest liquor store is. I had recently found out from Cha-Cha that DaveCo liquors in Thornton, CO is the largest in the world and asked them for the square footage. They hit me back with 102,000 sq. ft. Damn. So go to this liquor store and start using Cha-Cha.

Chauncys

This is my house's new word for tool. If a guy is a tool, he's a chauncy too. Also you can call him chaunce (pronounced chawnce) for short. For example of chaunces check out hotchickswithdouchebags.com, watch Tool Academy on VH1 or see above:

Sponsor Me

Recently I sent the picture below to a buddy of mine to see if he would sponsor me. He said he wasn’t sure and needed some more footy. He just started the company (shred-love.com) so I’m trying to get in early and get that paper. Let me know what you think.
